Mrs. Effie M. (Kaled) Howshan, a life-long resident of Methuen, Massachusetts passed away on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009 at her home.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on September 15th, 1923 to the late Sam and Wadia (Owen) Kaled. She was educated in the Methuen Schools and attended the Searles High School also in Methuen, MA. Mrs. Howshan was an attendant of Saint Joseph's Melkite Church in Lawrence and was a homemaker and caretaker to her family.
Mrs. Howshan enjoyed traveling with her husband, she loved spending time with her family and cooking for them. Effie also enjoyed playing cards with her friends and loved to scratch, scratch tickets.
Married for 55 years to the late Mr. Alfred Howshan who passed away September 1, 1998.

She was the sister to the late: Yvonne Ellis, Genevieve Kiamie, Ernie Kaled, Tom Kaled
Her funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 26th, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
Burial will be private.
