Obituary

Leo Rowan, 82, of Church Street, Greenville, died Saturday February 21, 2009, surrounded by his family at Miriam Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of the late Adele (Rakutis) Rowan. Born in Providence, a son of the late William and Mary (Gilmore) Rowan.
He was employed by the State of Rhode Island and retired in 1988. He was a World War II Navy Veteran. He lived in Greenville since 1995 and had previously lived in Cranston.
He is survived by his two daughters, Carol Ann Christian of Greenville and Kathleen T. Bagley of Wakefield, three grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Dorothy Ferguson, Margaret Blanchett, Agnes Rowan, Eleanor Pike, James, John, William, Ray, Edward, Joseph, Robert, and Thomas Rowan.
Funeral service Wednesday at 10:30am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with Military Honors will be in the RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Tuesday 5-8pm.
