
Thomas F. McGonagle, 53 of Franklin died February 22 in Brigham & Women’s Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Maria Cristina (Arreola) McGonagle.
Born in Boston, March 9, 1955, the son of Edith (Totman) McGonagle of Medway and the late Joseph McGonagle, Mr. McGonagle was raised in Medway and had lived in Franklin for several years.
Mr. McGonagle was a 1973 graduate of Medway High School and a 1991 graduate of the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
Mr. McGonagle had worked for the First Church of Christ Scientist in Boston since 1991; presently he was a data base administrator.
Mr. McGonagle enjoyed snow skiing, sailing and camping.
Mr. McGonagle served in the Army during the Viet Nam War era, as a military policeman in Germany. He attained the rank of Private First Class.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughter, Julia Vieira of Westborough and a son, Thomas A. McGonagle of Franklin.
He is also survived by his sister, Edith McGonagle of Medway and brothers, Joseph of Gatesville, Texas, William of Naples, Florida and James and David McGonagle, both of Medway.
He was the brother of the late Andrew McGonagle.
He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 26 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 St. in Franklin at 8:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 9:00 a.m.
Burial will be private.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
