Anton (Tony) Skvarce, 94, of Wukegan,IL died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday February 20, 2009.
He was born on June 3, 1914 in Waukegan to Anton and Jennie Skvarce. He retired from US Steel in 1977 after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, and car mechanic. Tony was a devoted and loving husband and caregiver to his wife Cecilia for 35 years. He was a loving father and grandfather grandfather, and a mentor and friend to his grandchildren. He was a wonderful neighbor and very self giving to everyone that knew him. He will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his son Tony (Kathy) Skvarce of Fitzgendd, GA; his daughter Gloria (James) Askew of Wadsworth, lL; five grandchildren Jennie (Michael) Jay, Laurie Anne (Beau) Luckie, Mark (Stephanie Godek) Moll, Scott (Ann) Moll, and Malia (William) Benavides; and five great grandchildren: Sarah, Aaron, Gabriella, Liam and Lee; a sister-in-law, Bernice Origutis; and two nieces, Janet Origutis and Barb (John) Venisnik. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years in 2003, brothers,Frank and Fred and his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 at I0:00am at Our Lady of Humility Church, 10665 W. Wadsworth Rd. Visitation will be from 9:00am until time of Mass at the church. He will be laid to rest at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville, IL.
