Manuel Medeiros, Jr., husband of Maria C. (Vieira) Medeiros, died at Longmeadow of Taunton on Friday, Feb. 20, 2009.
He was 84.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the son of the late Manuel and Maria A. (Botelho) Medeiros, he moved to the area in 1977.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, he retired at the age of 62, after working for several years for the Lucey Shoe Co. of Bridgewater.
Besides his wife, he leaves 3 sons, Manuel V. and Alvaro L. Medeiros, both of Taunton, and Dennis V. Medeiros of Attleboro; 2 brothers, Alberto Medeiros of Toronto, Canada and Alvaro Medeiros of Sao Paulo, Brazil; a sister, Maria Gloria Medeiros of Brazil; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Jose, Antonio, Carlos, and Ernesto Medeiros.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Tuesday, Feb. 24th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
