Obituary

GREENWELL, NORMAN H., 79, of Louisville, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009.
He was a native of Indianapolis, IN, but later moved to Rhodelia, KY. He was a Sergeant in the Army who served in Germany during the Korean War. He retired from LG&E in 1989 after 35 years and was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church (formerly St. Helens).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Ora Greenwell; brother, Shirley Greenwell; and sisters, Leila Woodall and Irma Schaefer.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Elliott) Greenwell; children, Trish Waller (Scott), Debby McGrath (Darrell), Tony Greenwell (Robin) and David Greenwell (Elizabeth); 10 grandchildren, Courtney, Andrew, Adam, Lia, Kayla, Quinn, Craig, Megan, Hannah and Alec and his sister, Bernadine Fowler.
The family would like to thank the staff of Twinbrook Nursing Home, Dr. Van Tuong and Dr. Hieu Tuong for their wonderful care.
His funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at Mary Queen of Peace Church (St. Helens), 4005 Dixie Highway, with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and after 9 a.m. on Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
