OBITUARY
Brookline
Retired Captain Marco "Mike" Barouch, 91, died Wednesday February 18, at
Health Alliance Leominster Hospital after an illness.
Mike leaves his former wife Helen E. (Erickson) Hornsey, of Fitchburg, his
sons Michael D. Barouch of Green River, Wy., Mark A. Barouch and David
P. Barouch both of London, England. His daughter Jeana A. Higgins of
Amarillo, Tx. his brother Richard Barouch and his sister Sally Rheinstein
both of New York. His grandchildren Jessica L. Higgins of Albuqurque,
N.M. Jake Barouch, Ted Barouch and Elizabeth Barouch all of London,
Eng. Damon K. Barouch, of White Sands, N.M., Angie Nielson of Phoenix,
Az. and Ara M. Barouch of Green River, Wy. His son Jerry Barouch and his
brother Joseph Barouch died before him.
Mike was born in Constantinople February 28, 1917, the son of Solomon
and Adele (Alfonso) Barouch and came to the United States at an early age.
He graduate from Roosevelt high school in New York.
Mike was career Air Force with 21 years service. He began his military
career at Pearl Harbor in 1941 and served in many assignments around the
world. Following his military career, Mike worked as an investigator for the
state of New York, then moved to Brookline, Ma. before moving to
Fitchburg, Ma..
Mike was a former member of Marine Lodge of Masons on Cape Cod.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday February 24, at 11:00 A.M. in the
Bosk Funeral Home 85 Blossom St. Fitchburg. Burial with military honors
will take place in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Ma. Calling
hours in the funeral home are Monday February 23, from 2 to 4 P.M.
