George J. Doucette age 62 of Salem, NH, died Friday at his home after a sudden and critical onset of Multiple Myeloma.
He was born in Lowell, MA, and grew up in Concord, NH. The son of Henry & Dora (Lussier) Doucette. He graduated from St. John’s High School in Concord, NH, and graduated from New Hampshire College, and received his master’s degree from Boston University.
Mr. Doucette retired in July of 2002 after working 36 years for the Federal Government. During the last 18 years he served as a Regional and WorldWide Controller for the Defense Contract Audit Agency. At the time of his retirement, he was presented with the National Finance Center’s 2nd Annual Eagle Award, which had been presented to Senator John Glenn the previous year. The award was presented for the greatest achievement within the DCAA. He was twice presented with the DCAA Employee of the Year Award. Upon his retirement he was presented with the National flag flown over the US Capital Building and the State of NH Flag flown over the NH State House.
He was a veteran who served 4 years and 4 months in the US Navy on the USS Randolph as an Air Crew Chief during the Cuban Crisis.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 34 years: Suzanne (Roy) Doucette of Salem, NH. A wonderful and proud father to his beloved son: Todd and his wife Jessica, whom he always thought of as a daughter. He was gramps to his three adored grandchildren, Andrew, Ryan, and Emily.
He was also survived by 2 Brothers: Henry & his wife Jeanie of Peabody, MA Robert & his wife Gabi of Myrtle Beach, SC

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Cremation will follow.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH.
