BRADFORD: Wilhelma H. “Veronica” (Znamierowski) Switlekowski, 91, died Tuesday morning, February 17, 2009 in the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill following a thirty year courageous battle with breast cancer. She was the wife of the late Charles P. Switlekowski who died in 1983.
Born in Cambridge on June 5, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Lucyan and Sophie (Boleza) Znamierowski. She had resided in Framingham and Somerville for many years before moving to Bradford twenty years ago.
Veronica was employed as a baker at the Continental Bakery in Framingham for over twenty-five years. She was a longtime communicant of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford.
She is survived by her sister, Blanche Davidowicz of Ward Hill, two nieces, Frances, and her husband, Jeffrey Eason of Bradford and Ann M. Davidowicz, and her companion, Daniel S. Bresnahan of Haverhill, four nephews, Jay W. and his wife, Jamie Davidowicz, C. Michael and his wife, Debbie Davidowicz all of Bradford, Gerald “Butch” Znamierowski of Andover, Joseph and his wife Charlene Znamierowski of Dracut and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers Gerald and Joseph Znamierowski.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday in the Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 52 Salem Street, Bradford from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Sacred Hearts Church Food Pantry, 48 South Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835 or the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life “Keeping it Together”, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Interment will be held in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Framingham.
