Obituary

Leonard Ray "Lenny" McCray, age 28, of Voluntown, passed away unexpectedly on Monday in Norwich.

Lenny was born in Westerly on March 13, 1980 the son of Robert McCray of ME and Darlene (Willcox) Cheek and her husband Everett of Mystic.

He was married to Donna (Kemp) McCray in North Stonington on August 23, 2008.

He served his apprenticeship under Watrous Construction Co., specializing in roofing and carpentry.

Lenny was a member of New Life Assembly of God Church in Voluntown. He enjoyed music and was an accomplished pool player.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lenny is survived by his siblings, Candida M. Lionetti of E. Lyme and Troy McCray of Old Saybrook; 4 step-siblings, Kena Smith, Kerry Cheek, Karen Jones, and Billy Cheek, all of TX; his step-children, Timothy, Matthew, and Nathaneal Bonesteel, all of Windsor Locks, CT, his grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Friday from 11am-12:45pm, followed by a service at 1pm. The Rev. Robert Keator, Pastor of New Life Assempby of God Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Peckham-Brown Cemetery, Ledyard.

In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the church.
