Betty J. Cooper, 78, of Derry, NH died Sunday February 15, 2009 at her home. Betty was born in Sandown, NH on November 27, 1930, daughter of the late Everette and Evelyn (Brown) Huckins. She was educated in the Sanborn-Kingston school system and had been resident of Derry for most of her life. Betty was employed for several shoe shops in Derry. She enjoyed caring for people and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Bill Cooper of Derry, her son, Mark Cooper and his wife Kim of Raymond, NH, five grandchildren, Michael and Tina of Weare, NH, Sarah, Rachel and Angela of Raymond, four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Emily, Colby and Caleb, five sisters, Olive Berube of Bedford, NH, Charlotte Johnson of Farmington, NH, Judith Buxby of Henderson, NV, Sandra Wells and her husband Lenny of Henderson, NV, and Dorothy Rowan of Rochester, NH, two brothers, Everette "Billy" Huckins of Union, NH, and Ralph Huckins and his wife Barbara of Sandown, also many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Billy Cooper, her brother, Edmund Huckins and her sister, Ruby Estey.
Calling hours were held on Thursday February 19, 2009 from 5 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services were held on Friday at 10:00am in the funeral home. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry.
