Obituary

Raymond M. Philblade, 88, of 19 Hultin Circle, a Navy World War II Veteran, died Thursday, May 29, at home.

He leaves his wife of 66 years, Louise D. (Sowle) Philblade; a son, Raymond J. Philblade of Holden; and two grandchildren. Two brothers, Clarence and Wilton Philblade and three sisters, Ruth Willoughby, Grace Johnson, and Gladys Caribo predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester, son of Eric and Hannah (Sakreson) Philblade. He attended Worcester schools. He lived most of his life in Worcester and lived in Holden for the past two years. Mr. Philblade was a Navy veteran and served in the Pacific during World War II. He was a kiln setter for Norton Co., Plant 7, for many years. He was a member of the Athelston Masonic Lodge Worcester, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, and was an avid golfer.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 31 in Nordgren Memorial Chapel (www.NordgrenMemorialChapel.com), 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester.
