William F. Carroll, 81 of Woburn, died Wednesday at the Sunbridge Care And Rehabilitation Center of Wilmington. He was the son of the late Walter J. and Mary A. (Richards) Carroll.
Mr. Carroll lived in Woburn most of his life, he attended Woburn High School and graduated with the class of 1940. He worked in his brother“s sporting goods store and later at Carroll“s Automotive. Bill served in WW II with the US Army. He recieved many metals and accommadations. He worked with Miami Police with one of the first companies in the US that trained attack dogs for police work and security for bussinesses. Bill retired from BASF in Bedford in 1984 after many years of service to them.
He was a member of VFW Post 543, DAV Chapter 88, and an executive board officer of the George A. Campbell Post 101 American Legion.
Mr. Carroll was predeceased by his brother, Walter J. ''Porky'' Carroll Jr., and stepbrother, Bart Donohue, Jr.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday at 8:30AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn at 9:30AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visitation will be Saturday morning from 8 to 9AM. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Late WWII Army Veteran.
