Evelyn A. (Williams) Wydler, 83, of 1201 River Road, Mystic, died unexpectedly Thursday morning at the Mystic Manor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center.
Evelyn was born in Ledyard on May 31, 1919 the daughter of Cecil and Sarah (Holdridge) Williams. Raised in Ledyard, she attended local schools.
A longtime resident of the area, Evelyn also spent some of her later years in Bonita Springs, Fla. where she was employed as a housekeeping supervisor at Vanderbilt Towers in Naples, Fla. until her retirement in 1981.
She was a longtime member of the Union Baptist Church, High St., Mystic and spent much of her time time collectng stamps.
Evelyn is survived by her son, David Wydler of Ledyard, and her grandson David Wydler Jr., a brother, Kenneth N. Williams of Naples, Fla. and her companion, Herman Schramm of Mystic. She was predeceased by a sister, Margaret Pearce.
A Graveside Funeral Service will be conducted at Lambtown Cemetery, Lambtown Rd., Ledyard on Monday at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
At her request, memorial donations may be made to a local charity of your choice.
Evelyn entrusted John N. Baldwin III and Brian T. Holt, her friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic, to carry out her wishes.
