H.C. Sires, 74, of Charleston, husband of 52 years to Patricia Muckenfuss Sires died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 13, 2009 at 3 o’clock at Hopewell Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o’clock this evening.

Mr. Sires was born June 14, 1934 in Charleston County, a son of the late Willie Harold Sires and Cary Perry Sires. He was a graduate of St. Paul’s High School. He was owner of Sires Construction and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are:
1 daughter: Donna Sires Thornley of Charleston
2 grandchildren: Juliette and Jamie Thornley both of Charleston
Brother and sisters: F. Burnat Sires and his wife Helen of Adams Run, Jennie Ree Moody and her husband Arthur of Charleston, Mary Dear of Mount Pleasant and Isabella Kelly and her husband Ron of Charleston.
He was predeceased by his brothers and sister: Harry Sires, Aaron Sires and Lois Sires.
