Ima L. Coan, 90, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Thursday, February 12, 2009 at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Hand and Rev. Danny Lovett officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Coan was born November 17, 1918 in Franklin County, Alabama to the late George Washington and Martha Posey Creel. She lived in the community most of her life. Mrs. Coan was a homemaker, a farmer and a former employee of Streets Star Laundry. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church for over 60 years.
Mrs. Coan is survived by a son, Steve Coan of Fitzgerald; grandchildren, Andy & Anna Coan of Decatur, Pamela Coan of Marietta and Jamie Coan of Dublin; daughter-in-law, Rachel Coan of Byron, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jesse O. Coan, son, Matthew Coan, daughter, Ailene Coan and a grandson, Anthony Coan.
