BAILEY, George Beuttel, 83, of Sharon, MA, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009, at Brigham and Women's Hospital surrounded by family. Son of George and Edith Bailey of Sharon, he was married for 60 years to the former Lucile Duff. Served domestically in World War II, US Navy and attended MIT and University of Illinois, graduate 1948, Electrical Engineering. Employed by Foxboro Company and Honeywell and Whitehall Co, LTD. Active in community and environmental causes and served on Town of Sharon Planning Board, the Massachusetts Area Planning Council, the MBTA Advisory Board, and the Environmental League of Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife; Lucile Duff Bailey; two brothers, Bruce Bailey of Concord, MA; and Donald Bailey of Boston, MA; six children, Janet Hollocher and husband Kurt of Schenectady, NY; George Duff Bailey and wife Iris of Chappaqua, NY; Sarah Brady and husband Martin of Attleboro, MA; Rebecca Bailey Schley and husband Jim of South Strafford, VT; Leonie Howard and husband Bradford, of Sharon; and Thomas G. Bailey and wife, Barbara, of Watertown, MA; and nine grandchildren. Visiting hours at the Bailey home in Sharon will be Friday through Sunday, Feb. 20 through 22, 3 to 8 pm. A public memorial service will be held on Sunday, March 22, at 2 PM at the Sharon Community Center.
