Gloria M. (Colapinto) Malo, 84 years of Brockton died Tuesday, February 10, 2009 at Brockton Hospital. A lifelong resident of Brockton, a daughter of the late Nicholas and Philomena (Angelo) Colapinto. She was a graduate of Brockton High School. Gloria had been employed by the City of Brockton working as a secretary for the Dept. of Public Works for many years and retired at the age of 67. She enjoyed dancing and was a former member of the Sophisticated Ladies Dance Troop. As a younger woman Gloria enjoyed sewing and cooking and recently enjoyed passing her time with crossword puzzles. She will be remembered as a very generous, loving caring person and a friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by a son, Charles D. Malo of S. Easton; her longtime fiancé Edward T. Murphy of Brockton; a sister Carmela Slinger of Brockton; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hackett of NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the mother of the late Ronald Malo.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday 10-11am with a service at 11am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
