Obituary

Edward C. Lamberto, 79 of Franklin died February 9 in the VA Hospital in West Roxbury. He was the husband of the late Dorothy “Dolly” (Grici) Lamberto who died in 2006.
Born in Franklin, July 12, 1929, the son of the late Daniel and Rosa Lamberto, Mr. Lamberto was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was a graduate of Franklin High School where he was an outstanding football player.
Mr. Lamberto had been the owner and operator of Lamberto’s Garage in Franklin from 1945 until his retirement.
He enjoyed the beach, his cottage in Rhode Island, his dogs and sports.
Mr. Lamberto served in the Army during the Korean War and achieved the rank of corporal. He was awarded the Korean Service Star, 2 bronze service stars and the United Nations Service Medal
He is survived by his daughter, Dollene Lamberto of St.Paul, MN and his son, David Lamberto and his wife, Doreen of Franklin.
He was the father the late Steven Lamberto.
He is also survived by his sister, Gilda Bankert of Plainville.
He was the brother of the late John, Anthony, Albert, Frederick and Guido Lamberto and Mary Drowne.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Tasha and Kevin Lamberto-Coryell and Elizabeth and Margaret Lamberto.
His funeral will be held on Friday, February 13 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. Franklin at 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church in Medway at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Franklin Senior Center, 10 Daniel McCahill Way, Franklin, MA 02038.
