GILLAND, LAWRENCE "ED," 75, born July 23, 1933, of Louisville, and Wolf River Dock, Albany, KY, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2009, at Jewish Hospital.
He spent many years with American Tobacco, retired from the Ford Motor Kentucky Truck Plant, and was a proud Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. and Stella May Gilland; sisters, Lula Minter and Ella Fowler; and brothers, Charles Albert and Alvin Gilland.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Doris Gilland; sister, Cora Thompson of Louisville; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Talbot Funeral Home, 1106 N. Cross Street, Albany, KY. with burial in Memorial Hill Cemetery, Albany, KY.
Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway, Louisville; and 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at Talbot Funeral Home, Albany, KY. Memorial gifts may be made to American Cancer Society.
