Taunton, George Carter Bentley Jr. a lifelong Taunton resident, died Friday February 5, 2009 unexpectedly at Boston Medical Center. He was 78 years of age. Born in Chelsea Mass. Son of the late George Carter Bentley Sr. and Edith May (Haskins) Bentley. He was employed for over sixty years at Miller and Williams Company as a manager of the ice plant. He retired in 1997. He also worked for New Process and Twist Drill Company. He was also in the United States Marines. He was a Korean Veteran. He enjoyed collecting diecast replica cars. He also enjoyed old music, especially Perry Como. He leaves two brothers, Richard W. Bentley and his wife Mary of Taunton and Larry F. Bentley and his wife Eunice of Monroe Maine. He also leaves two nieces, one nephew, one great niece and three great nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 11:30am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St (off Tremont St). Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 5-8pm.
