Obituary

James Albert Mosley, 67, died Monday, February 9, 2009, at his home in Banner, MS. He was born April 7, 1941 in Calhoun County to A.H. “Hosey” Mosley and Zora Idell Wright Mosley. He was self-employed as a logger, cattleman, and farmer, and was a Past Master Mason of Banner Masonic Lodge and was a Knight’s Templar. He was a member of the Calhoun County and Mississippi Cattleman’s Association. James Mosley was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. His warmth and wit touched everyone’s heart. He will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at his home at 988 Highway 9 West on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on the family property Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Masonic Rites being administered. William Huckaby, Wayne Warren, Gary Shoemake, Carl Wayne Massey, Sonny Harmon, and Stanford Gandy will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Marcel Poyner, Brandon Simmons, Mike Briscoe, David Black, Troy Stewart, Benjamin Briscoe, Brian Briscoe, Wesley Black, and Wade Shoemake.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Kay Mosley, and a sister, Anice Vinson.

Survivors include four daughters, Lisa Briscoe of Sardis, MS, Stephanie Mosley of Van Cleave, MS, Regina Shoemake of Bruce, MS, and Dr. Misty Mosley of Tupelo, MS; a son, Chad Mosley of Banner, MS; a special friend, Mary Dickey of Banner, MS; a brother-in-law, Calvin Vinson of Murphreesboro, NC; 13 grandchildren, Benjamin Briscoe, Brian Briscoe, Wesley Black, Presley Weaver, Robin Mosley Nix, Casey Mosley, Paige Mosley, Brice Mosley, Brook Mosley, Wade Shoemake, Sawyer Shoemake, Keafen Shoemake, and Briella Simmons; and one great grandchild, Shelby Briscoe.
