France Alexander Bozeman, 85, of Winter Haven, Florida died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Brandywyne Health Care in Winter Haven, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Virginia Pennington will officiate with burial to follow in Lawrence Cemetery. Kenneth Smith, Robert Bozeman, Bo Bozeman, Eddie Miller, John Reed and Dave Kirk will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 13, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Bozeman was born on May 3, 1923 in Sylvester and was the son of Walter Ripley Bozeman and Mary Bashaba Bozeman, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 1/2 years, Mary Coarsey Bozeman. He lived in Albany for 36 years before he moved to Kissimmee, Florida in 1980. He was a letter carrier with the Albany Post Office for over 30 years and was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 60 years. He was a member of the Christian Science Church for over 57 years.
Mr. Bozeman is survived by his wife, Jayne Bozeman; one son, James H. Bozeman, Sr.; one daughter, Ann Bozeman Taylor; one daughter-in-law, Pamela Bozeman; one sister, Mary Bozeman Miller; six grandchildren, April Bozeman Wetherington, Robin Miller, Bo Bozeman, Kenneth Smith, Robert Bozeman and Laura Bozeman; and one great granddaughter, Elisabeth Miller.
