Obituary

DUDLEY - William C.”Val” Gajewski, 83, of Dudley, died Saturday, February 7, at home in the presence of his family.

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Eleanor G. (Szymczak) Gajewski; 2 sons, Leonard W. Gajewski and his wife Diane W. of Thompson, CT, and Thomas P. Gajewski of Webster; three brothers, Bernard, Edmund and Norman Gajewski, all of Dudley; two grandchildren, Keith Gajewski and his wife Kimberly, and Kimberly Nolin and her husband Richard; a great grandson, Theodore R. Gajewski; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard Gajewski.

He was born in Dudley, a son of William and Emily E. (Dziuban) Gajewski and was a lifelong resident. He attended Bartlett High School.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a gunner’s mate on the battleship USS Arkansas.

Mr. Gajewski worked as a process inspector for many years at Wyman Gordon Company in Grafton, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of St. Andrew Bobola Church.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 11, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main Street. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will provide the military honors at the cemetery. Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, February 10, in the funeral home.
