Obituary

Bella (Levasseur) Charette, 77, passed away Sunday February 1 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, New Hampshire.

She was born April 2, 1931 in Lowell, Massachusetts a daughter of the late Ovid and Bella(Mercier) Levasseur. Wife to the late Francis R. Charette who passed away in 2006.

Bella was a resident of Lowell most of her life, where she received her early childhood education at St. Jean D’Arc School. Prior to her retirement in 2003, Bella worked at the Greater Lowell Technical High School in the cafeteria for twenty-eight years.

She was a parishioner of St Marguerite D’Youville Parish in Dracut. Bella enjoyed watching the Red Sox and spending time with her grandchildren, Meghan and Molly.

She is survived by her three children and four grandchildren, Gary P. Charette and his wife Brigitte and their children Meghan and Molly, Francis W. Charette and his wife Karen and their children Samantha and Casandra, a daughter, Debbie Charette all of Dracut; a sister, Edna Abbott and her husband Walter of Virginia ; also several nieces and nephews.

Bella was pre-deceased by her husband Francis, a son John W. Charette, two brothers, George Levasseur, and Paul Levasseur, and a sister Lorraine Desmarais.

Friends will be received at the M. R. LAURIN FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St. Lowell on Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 4 to 7pm. Her funeral will take place on Thursday at 8am from the Funeral Home to be followed by a Funeral Mass at St Marguerite D’Youville Parish in Dracut at 9am. Interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations may be made in her memory to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Rd. Merrimack, N.H. 03054.
