Obituary

WORCESTER-Mabel P. (Greeney) Bergin, 96, formerly of 71 Rockland Road, Auburn and Leicester died Monday, May 26th in the St. Francis Home. Her husband Francis A. Bergin died in 1989. She leaves 2 sons Francis A. Bergin, Jr., of Cherry Valley, David M. Bergin of Westboro, a daughter Anne M. Reno of Worcester, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. 2 brothers Harold F. and Edgar Greeney, a sister Gladys Fernane and a great granddaughter predeceased her.

She was born in Peterborough, NH the daughter of Frank and Dora (Beausoleil) Greeney and was raised in Leicester. Mrs. Bergin was a graduate of David Hale Fanning Trade School and had worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse at Worcester County Hospital, Worcester City Hospital and Fairlawn Hospital. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church in Auburn and a member of the Massachusetts State Guard Auxiliary.

The funeral will be Thursday, May 29th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 759 Main Street, Leicester. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Leicester. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday, May 28th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
