Evelyn Stetson
Mary “Evelyn” (Condon) Stetson, 91, of Whitman died Thursday, February 5th in the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, after a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late Paul W. Stetson, Sr. Evelyn was born in Whitman, daughter of the late Patrick and Margaret (Redding) Condon. She has been a lifetime resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High. She worked alongside her family as the bookkeeper for Paradise Water Gardens in Whitman for over 50 years; also she worked on the draft board in Whitman during WWII. Her greatest achievement was her ability to make everyone around her smile. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and the Patriots.
She is survived by her son Paul W. Stetson, Jr. of Rockland, her 3 daughters Ann Thompson of Hanson, Cheryl Quaglia of East Bridgewater and Patricia Donovan of Whitman; also six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Condon, Catherine Candlen and Louise Cormier.
Her funeral mass will be held Monday, February 9th at 10:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater, MA .Calling hours omitted by request.
