Phyllis M. Reed, 74, of Derry, NH died Wednesday evening February 4, 2009 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center, Derry. Mrs. Reed was born in New Haven, CT on September 20, 1934, daughter of the late Eugene and Bertha (Beaumont) Allen, Sr. She had resided in Derry since 1960, formerly living in Haverhill, MA and North Haven, CT. She was a 1957 graduate of Piedmont College in Georgia where she majored in English Education. She had been employed by the IRS as an auditing agent. She was also a member of Church of the King in Londonderry, NH.
She is survived by her son, John R. Reed of Derry, her daughter, Anne Marie Johnson and her husband Tim of Brooktondale, NY, and her sister, Beverly Ginter and her husband Harold of North Haven, CT. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene E. Allen, Jr.
Funeral services were held on Saturday February 7th at 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry with a calling hour from 9 – 10:00am. Burial followed in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 845945, Boston, MA 02284-5945.
