Henry E. Sawyer, 89 of Greenville, ME, Abington and South Weymouth, MA and Marco Island, FL., loving husband of Elizabeth T. (Thompson) Sawyer for 66 years. He was the adored father of Candy Stone and her husband Jeff, of Pembroke, Pam Borgeson and her partner Jeri Screnci, of West Bridgewater, a deceased son Ray and his surviving wife MaryEllen. Loved by his grand children, Matthew Stone and wife Gina, Nicole Stone and Stephen Sawyer as well as his great grandchild, Brooklynn. He also leaves two beloved sisters in Maine, Frances Richards and Ginny Osgood and many nieces and nephews.
Henry was a World War II army veteran and member of the Masons, Shriners, Veterans of Foreign War and the American Legion. He was also active for years on the Abington Housing Authority. He was an avid skier, boater and golfer and could tell a story just 'bout anything. He will be sadly missed by his morning breakfast club in Whitman, MA his summer golf group in Abington, MA and by his many friends in the Seabreeze community of Marco Island, FL.
His funeral services will be held Monday, February 9th at 10:00AM in the United Church of Christ, 10 Bedford St., Abington, MA. Visiting Hours will be held Sunday, February 8th from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman.
