WORCESTER - Walter H. Lucey, 69, of 14 Brookside Ave. and formerly of Crystal Street died Saturday, May 24 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center after an illness.
He leaves his wife of 38 years Elsa R. (Klaucke) Lucey; two sons Allan W. Lucey of Portland, TX and Steven C. Smith of Springfield, VA; three daughters Donna Druckamiller of Florida, Cindi L. Lemovitz of Worcester and Wendy A. Smith of Pawtucket; a brother James Lucey of Worcester; three sisters Dorothy Dubois of Florida, Marie Newcomb of Holden and Margaret Dudevoir of Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was born in Worcester son of Thomas and Ethel (Henry) Lucey.
Mr. Lucey worked for 20 years for Atlas Beverage Distributors retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Local 170 Teamsters Union for over 25 years. He was also a member of the Worcester Lodge of Elks #243 and the Auburn Sportsman's Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
The funeral will be held on Friday, May 30 at 11 AM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday, May 29 from 6 to 8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
