Carmen A. Gumina, 91 of Medford, died Sunday after a brief illness in the New England Baptist Hospital, Boston, MA.
Born in Italy, he lived in Medford for many years and formerly of the North End of Boston. He was the son of the late Maria (Restivo) and Nicolo Gumina. Carmen was a International Officer and the Bank of Boston for over 30 years and retired in 1984. He was a member of the American Legion Medford Post 45. Beloved husband of the late Elvira N. (Freda) Gumina. Devoted father of Marie A. Murphy and her husband Larry of Medford. Loving grandfather of Jay Murphy and Shannon Murphy both of East Boston and the late Megan Murphy. Brother of Charles Gumina of Michigan. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Thursday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
