Obituary

FRANKLIN—Helena (Simarrian) Cunningham 74, of Franklin, died Saturday January 31, at the Milford Regional Medical Center following a long illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James J. Cunningham who died in 2007.

Born in Millis, December 12, 1934, a daughter of the late John and Aznive (Calusdian) Simarrian, she was a longtime resident of Millis, before moving to Franklin 11 years ago.

Mrs. Cunningham was raised and educated in Millis schools, and for many years worked at Carter’s, a children’s clothing store in Needham, and also worked as a dietary aide for the Medway Country Manor.

She always enjoyed opening her home to her family, especially to her sisters, she also loved to cook, travel, listen to country western music and loved all animals.

She is survived by six sisters, Virginia Walsh of Franklin, Elizabeth Roberts of Franklin, Mary Simarrian of Millis, Beatrice Savignano of Needham, Alice Monahan of Norwood and Dolores Gervasi of Franklin, a sister in love Kathleen M. Holden and her husband Charles of Middleton, and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday February 3, at 11AM in the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. Franklin (www.oterifuneralhome.com).

Interment will follow in Union Street Cemetery.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 10-11AM.
