Manuel Bento Daniel, age 67, a resident of Swansea for 20 years. Passed away Feb. 1, 2009 in Fall River. He was the husband of Virginia (Rose) Daniel. Born in the Azores, son of the late Manuel & Ermelinda (Farias) Souza. Prior to retiring, Manuel worked in the Maintenance Department for Salve Regina University.
Besides his wife of Swansea, he is survived by 3 children: Edward and David Daniel, & Elizabeth (Daniel) Walworth all of Fall River. Step-daughter: Stacie (Booth) Mc Elroy of Swansea. 5 siblings: Ermelinda Joseph of Fall River; Joseph Daniel of Riverside, RI; Mary Silvia; Belmira Pimental; and John Souza all of Fall River. 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, and many nieces & nephews. He was the father of the late Manuel Daniel.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. THURSDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church, Essex St. at 10:30 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours WEDNESDAY 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
