Robin W. Hood, 61, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, January 31, 2009 at Archbold Medical Center, Thomasville, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Tuesday, February 3, at Eastside Holiness Baptist Church with the Rev. Edsel Young officiating. Interment will follow in the Wray Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mr. Hood was born September 7, 1947 in Savannah, Georgia to Mabel Phillips Hood and the late Jim Daniel Hood. He was a 1965 graduate from Fitzgerald High School and a member of UTU. He was a retired conductor with 23 years service on the CSX Railroad. He served in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam War. He lived in the community most of his life and attended Wray Holiness Baptist Church.
Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Sheila R. Hood of Fitzgerald; mother, Mabel Phillips Hood of Fitzgerald; sons, Ryan Hood, of Fitzgerald and Randall Morgan of Triangle, Virginia; daughter and son in law Crystal and David Giacchino, of Fitzgerald, one grandson, Robin Staley Giacchino and sister, LaGail (Gene) Daniels, Roland, Oklahoma.
