Mattie Pearl Hale, 73, Clarksville, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Jerry Harwell and Rev. Anthony Traylor officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born January 16, 1936 in Wilson County, TN, daughter of the late Henry Franklin Purcell and Nancy Rebecca Elizabeth Morris. Mrs. Hale was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, K C Hale, two sons, Jerry Lee Hale and Tommy Clayton Hale, both of Clarksville; five daughters, Lola Jean South, Barbara Kay Reese, Darlene Crumine, and Nina Ruth Wilson, all of Clarksville; and Patsy Sue Milliner, Upton, KY; two brothers, Frank and Doug Purcell, both of Auburntown, TN; three sisters, Linda Smith, Woodbury, TN; Connie Alsup, Lebanon, TN; and Mary Gilley, Auburntown, TN; twenty one grandchildren and twenty seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three siblings, Robby Dean Stacy, Jimmy Dale Purcell, and Erma May Reagan.
