Grace Elizabeth (Burleigh) Mailhot, age 94, a longtime resident of N. Chelmsford, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009 at Lowell General Hospital. For 70 years, she was the beloved wife of the late Roger P. Mailhot who died in May, 2007.
Born in Lowell on Sept. 27, 1914, the daughter of the late Adelbert and Annie (Burns) Burleigh, she attended Lowell schools and graduated from Lowell High School.
Prior to her retirement, Grace was employed as an electrical assembler with Raytheon for 20 years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Roger A. and Joan Mailhot of North Andover; her grandsons, David Mailhot and his wife April of S. Berwick, ME, Brian Mailhot of Hampton, NH, and James and Christopher Mailhot of N. Andover; a sister, Dorothy Lamoureux of Dracut; two nieces, Sandra Picanco of Lowell and Gloria Morris of N. Chelmsford; also a dear friend, Carleen Gavin of N. Chelmsford.
Relatives and friends may call at the M. R. LAURIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 295 Pawtucket St., Lowell, on Friday Jan. 30 from 4 to 8pm. Her funeral will take place from the Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 9:30 followed by a Prayer Service at 10:30 at the chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, E. Chelmsford. Interment to follow.
