Willie J. Hutto, 65, of Wray, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Saturday, January 31 at Lax Community Church with the Rev. Edsel Young and Rev. Marston Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-9, Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Hutto was born December 14, 1943 in Irwin County to the late R.J. and Daisy “Mammie” McCook Hutto. He was a 1963 graduate of Irwin County High School and active in the FFA. Mr. Hutto was a farmer and a retired meat cutter, having worked 38 years for Winn Dixie stores in Jacksonville, FL, Valdosta, Vidalia, Hazlehurst, Douglas, Fitzgerald, Tifton and Madison, FL. He was a member of Lax Community Church and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Hutto is survived by his wife, Edna M. Hutto of Wray; sons and daughters-in-law, David L. & Dannette Hutto of Wray and Charles, Jr. & Rhonda Davis of Eden; daughters and sons-in-law, Angela & Tommy Robitzsch of Guyton and Laura & Scott Layne of Bloomingdale; 7 grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony & Glen Ray Hutto, Noah & Shirley Hutto and Robert J. & Lynn Hutto all of Irwin County; sisters and brother-in-law, Nellie & Gene Cauley of Ambrose and Carolyn Tucker of Irwin County as well as several nieces and nephews.
