Peter J.”Jim” Grosso, 66, of Whitman, died Thursday, January 29th peacefully at home, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth (Goodrow) Grosso of Whitman. Peter was born in Cambridge, son of the late Peter A. and Cecile M. (Latendre) Grosso. He was brought up in Weymouth and attended Weymouth Schools. He has been a resident of Whitman since 1972. Jim was a Union Carpenter for many years with the Local 424 +40. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, member of the Braintree VFW.
In addition to his loving wife Elizabeth, he is survived by his brother Anthony ” Butch” Delgiacco of Whitman, his sister Janice King and the late Stephen King of Rockland, many nieces, nephews and his extended loving family members. He was also the brother of the late Robert Grosso, Dorothy Shea and Evelyn Stevens.
His services will be held on Saturday, January 31st at 4:00PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) ,Whitman. Burial will be in the MA V. A. National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12:00PM- 4:00PM. Donations may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 1115 W.
