Margaret A. "Peggy" (Connors) Sacco, of Medford, died Wednesday at Glen Ridge Nursing Home. She was 89.
Mrs. Sacco was born and raised in County Roscommon, Ireland, the daughter of the late Patrick and the late Margaret (Concanon) Connors. As a young woman she came to the United States and lived in Winchester briefly, before settling in Medford. Peggy worked for many years in the food service department at Tufts University. Most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leo A. Sacco, Sr. She was a devoted mother to Chief Leo A. Sacco, Jr, MPD and his wife Denise of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Leo A. Sacco III and his wife Vanya of Medford, Joseph D. Sacco and his wife Michelle of Chelmsford and a loving great-grandmother to Genesis, Ketzia and Jaydon. Peggy was a dear sister to Kathleen Joyce and her husband Edmund of Tewksbury, the late Thomas, Mary, Ann and James Connors, sister-in-law of Anne Moore of Raynham and also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 2-6. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
