Susan E. (Liarikos) Fortin, 42, of Acushnet died Thursday May 22, 2003 at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston after a long illness. She was the wife of Peter J. Fortin.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of George F. and Joan M. (Saunders) Liarikos of Rochester, she had lived in Acushnet for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Acushnet.
Mrs. Fortin was formerly employed by Verizon in Wareham in operator services until her retirement.
She was a member and chaplain of the American Legion Post 265 Ladies Auxiliary in Acushnet. She was a graduate of Old Colony Regional Vocational-Technical High School.
Survivors include her husband; her parents; a daughter, Brittany Fortin of Acushnet; a son, Peter G. Fortin of Acushnet; 2 brothers, George F. Liarikos III of Holbrook and Peter J. Liarikos of Nashua, NH; 2 sisters, Karen M. Liarikos-Mayall and her husband Brian of Fairhaven, and Jo-Ann O'Malley and her husband David, of Rochester; and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

(Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Tuesday May 27, 2003 at 7:45 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday May 26, 2003 from 4-8 PM. Burial will be in Acushnet Cemetery.
