Dolores M. (Shamon) Raymond of Roslindale died on January 27, 2009 , at Needham, MA. In the company of her dear friend Mario Virgilio. Born in Boston on March 10, 1932 she was the daughter of the late Cyrus Shamon and the late Bertha (Hacsunda) Shamon, both of Boston. She graduated from Girls High School in Boston in 1951. She was married in 1952 to the late Lucien Raymond of Woonsocket, R.I, and they raised their family in Roslindale.
Dolores leaves her daughter Linda Ogden, her husband Sean and grandchildren Sean and Brendan of Hyde Park; and her son Gary Raymond, his wife Lisa and grandchild Mark of Barnstable. She was the loving mother of the late Paul J. Raymond of Roslindale and leaves grandchild Paul F. Raymond and his mother Kathleen Wilcox of Roslindale.
Dolores was the sister of Joseph Shamon of Jamaica Plain, the late Ruth Foley of Norwood, the late Robert Shamon of Dedham, the late John Shamon of Belmont, and the late William Shamon of Walpole. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Known for her outgoing personality, “Dolly” was employed for many years in food service at several restaurants and hotels.
She loved people, music and shopping for bargains. She was always full of life. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Her visitation will be Friday January 30, 2009 from 4-8 pm at William J. Gormley Funeral Home, 2055 Centre St., West Roxbury. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to The Salvation Army, 147 Berkeley St., Boston, MA 02116
