Anna (Lopes) Grace, 90 of New Bedford died January 27, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of late Joseph and Ermina (Leitao) Lopes. She lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Mrs. Grace worked as a waitress and later became a homemaker.
She was a member of the International Church of the Nazarene.
Her happiest moments were with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, James M. Grace of New Bedford; 5 daughters, Cynthia A. Santos, Betty A. Fernandes, Sharon L. Magnett and her husband Ronald C. Magnett, Brenda J. Duarte and her husband Ronald C. Duarte, and Donna L. Grace, all of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Jenny Cruz and her husband Peter of Fairhaven and Alice Saunders of New Bedford; 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Henry "Golf" Lima and Joseph Lopes.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 30th at 10 AM in the International Church of the Nazarene, 284 Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, January 29th from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford.
