LOWELL: Charles R. “Chuckie” Chandler, Jr., age 51, of Lowell, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 26, 2009 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.
Born in Lowell on December 20, 1957, he was the son of the late Charles R. Chandler, Sr. and Janet (Stackpole) (Chandler) Brown of Lowell, who survives him.
Chuckie was raised in Tewksbury and attended Tewksbury schools.
He was employed for many years as a truck and heavy equipment mechanic and was the founder, owner and operator of Superior Truck and Equipment Repair, Inc. of Lowell.
According to his family “He was a big man with an even bigger heart”.
Chuckie was an avid N.A.S.C.A.R., Patriots and Red Sox fan and loved his motorcycle, spending time at his trailer at York Beach, ME and being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his seven year companion, Donna L. Donahue of Lowell, two daughters, Jessica L. Chandler-Field and her husband Michael of Lowell and Lisa M. Chandler of Chelmsford; three grandchildren, Felicia L., Dylan C. and Aalyiah Y. Chandler; one brother, Edward C. Chandler and his companion Sharon Armstead of Lowell; three nephews, Edward and Daniel Gay and Edward Chandler; one niece, Janet French; his former wife and friend, Teresa Luongo of Methuen; also many aunts, cousins and numerous friends.
Chuckie was the brother of the late Lyn A. Gay, who passed away on December 28, 2005.
Calling hours Thursday, Jan. 29th, 2-8 p.m., at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Funeral service Friday, Jan. 30th, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
