Rose C. Sullivan of North Andover, formerly of Lawrence and Andover, died at Sutton Hill Nursing Center in North Andover on Thursday, January 22, 2009. She was 95 years old.
Born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, on January 14, 1914, she was the beloved daughter of the late William and Rose (Fee) Sullivan. Ms. Sullivan was a former resident of Abbott Street, South Lawrence, and the Andover Commons in Andover. She resided at Sutton Hill for the past twelve years.
Rose was a graduate of the Breen School in South Lawrence, Lawrence High School and the North Shore Babies Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts. She worked for many years taking care of new born infants and small children. Rose was affectionately known as “Sully” to the Gardiner, Bundy and Sapienza families, whose children she cared for.
Rose will be sorely missed by six nieces; Elinor Ancinic of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Evelyn R. Martineau of Andover, Doris Giles of Methuen, Gertrude Sirois of Londonderry, New Hampshire, Maureen Burke of Gloucester and Paula-Lee Chambers of Methuen. She is also survived by dear friends; Charles and Jane Gardiner of Manchester, Massachusetts, Mary Bundy of New York City and Kaye Sapienza of Naples, Florida and many grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 118 South Broadway, Lawrence, Thursday, January 29, 2009, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Thursday, prior to the mass, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Burial was in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
