James Levasseur, 64, of Derry, NH, died Monday, January 26, 2009 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mr. Levasseur was born in Salem, MA on September 3, 1944, a son of the late Benjamin and Mabel (McCartney) Levasseur. He was a resident of Derry for the past two years, formerly living in Milford, NH. Mr. Levasseur enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by two brothers, Richard Levasseur and his wife Jacqueline of Peabody, MA, and Paul Levasseur of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Patty Zito of Buffalo, NY, and Priscilla Smagula of Danvers, MA; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert and Frederick.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
