Arthur E. Hanson, Sr., 60, of Norton passed away unexpectedly on Saturday January 24, 2009 at the Sturdy memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of the late who died on January 11, 2001.
Born in Attleboro, MA on February 3, 1948 he was a dear son of the late Helen E. (Metcalf) Fisher.
A resident of Norton for most of his life he was educated in Norton schools and was a graduate of Norton High School. Mr. Hanson was a retired machinist and had worked for Kilmartin Industries in Stoughton prior to retiring.
Arthur was a dedicated father to his children and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandsons. He was a car enthusiast who also enjoyed working on automobiles. His other hobbies included salt water fishing.
He is survived by his loving and devoted children Christine M. McDonough of Norton, Arthur E. Hanson, Jr. of West Bridgewater and Travis M. Hanson of Norton, his cherished grandsons Stephen F. McDonough, III and Andrew J. McDonough both of Norton. He is also survived by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
A memorial service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday January 29th at 7: 00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Private burial will be at a later date in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
