Stephen J. Maiorano, 57 years of East Taunton, died Friday January 23, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic. He was the loving husband for 29 years of the late Kathleen A. “Kathy” (Minnock) Maiorano who died December 24, 2008. Born in South Weymouth and raised in Hanson, Steve was the son of Ruth (Barker) Maiorano of Hanson and the late Alfonso Maiorano. A 1969 graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, Steve had been a truck driver for many years for Horizon Beverage Company in Avon. He was a member of Teamsters Local 653. Steve had lived in East Taunton with his wife for 17 years and they previously resided in Mansfield.
Steve loved trout fishing, working in his yard, collecting baseball hats and also traveling and dining out with his wife. He enjoyed a good cigar and loved having a good time with his family, but especially treasured time spent with his wife Kathy.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother Alan Maiorano and his wife Christine of Plympton, three nephews Jason, Jarrod and Jamison Maiorano and their families and his extended Minnock family. He was the son-in-law of Josephine Minnock of Brockton and the late Francis Minnock and brother-in-law of Michael Minnock of Brockton; Timothy Minnock and his wife Kathleen of Brockton; Francis Minnock and his wife Geraldine of Wellesley; Eileen Jones and her husband William of Brockton; Kelly Lynch and her husband James of Wareham and Grace Minnock of Wareham. He was the god father of Josephine Jones and he leaves many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church West Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, W. Bridgewater.
