Dorothy G. (Dunne) Macomber, a lifelong resident of Mansfield, died surrounded by her adoring family at home on Sunday January 25, 2009. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence E. Macomber to whom she had shared 49 years of marriage with at the time of his death on June 5, 1990.
Born in Mansfield, MA on September 27, 1919 she was a daughter of the late Edward and Gertrude (McPherson) Dunne.
She was a graduate of Mansfield High School and in addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her family Mrs. Macomber had also worked at the former Rose Garden Restaurant in Mansfield, the Doolitlle Home in Foxboro, at Dustin Greenhouses in East Mansfield and also in private home care.
A communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield she enjoyed knitting, gardening and being in the presence of her loving family.
She is survived by her devoted children Wanda G. Maloon of Mansfield, Francis E. Macomber and his wife Christine of Penn., Joanne Neipris and her husband Michael of Foxboro, Donna L. Askew of Mansfield and the late Peter E. Macomber. Also surviving is her dear daughter in law Janet Macomber of Mansfield and her cherished 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of her family in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
