
Kenneth J. Meyrelles, 82, passed away on January 24th, 2009 at the Winchester Hospital. He was born in Somerville on April 13th, 1926 to his parents Asdrubal and Ellen (Ferris) Meyrelles. Ken was raised and educated in Medford, graduating from Medford High School. During World War II, he served his country honorably in the United States Army. Kenneth was a Patrolman for the Medford Police Department for over 30 years. After his retirement, he moved to Malden and became a security guard at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston for several years. Ken also worked in Boston as a Swan Boat Operator. He is survived by his sisters, Thelma Meisse of Arlington and Ellen Poulos of Chelsea and by his cousin Lisa Melcher of Fitchburg. Kenneth was also survived by several nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Lorraine Countie. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Wednesday Jan. 28th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Services will conclude with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday January 27th from 4-8 PM.
