Evelyn M. (Onorato) DeProfio passed away on January 23, 2009 at the Aberjona Nursing Center in Winchester after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 81 years old.
Born and raised in Malden, Evelyn attended Wilfred Academy and was a hairdresser for 42 years. She enjoyed vacationing on Cape Cod and especially enjoyed gatherings with her family. She loved animals, particularly the family pets.
Evelyn was the beloved wife of Alonzo “Lonnie” DeProfio for 61 years. She was the loving mother of Linda Smith and her husband Robert, Roberta Cobuccio and her husband Anthony and Deborah Heller and her husband Tom. Evelyn was the grandmother of Robert Smith IV, Candice Depaz and Joseph Cobuccio. She was also the great-grandmother of Jillisa Smith and Deanna Depaz.
The Funeral will be held from the A. J. Spadafora Funeral Home, 865 Main Street, Malden on Tuesday, January 27th at 8:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday, January 26th from 4-8 p.m. Interment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
